illiland Waffles

aron Von Lodge was the head of a small country known as Lilliland near Switzerland. The time was the early 1900s.
Lilliland was situated among the Alpine Mountains. People loved to visit Lilliland because of the magnificence of the mountains. They loved skiing in the winter and hiking in the summer. Mountain life was a hearty outdoorsman's life. There were no guns, no hunting and no shooting. This way, everyone could enjoy the mountains without fear of being accidentally hurt by hunters. There were no hunters allowed in the Lilliland sections of the Alpine Mountains.
The people who went skiing or hiking loved to get an early start. They packed a lunch to enjoy on the trail. But they would never start out in the morning without a plate of Lilliland waffles topped with butter, berries, or syrup, or anything else that would strike their fancy.
Baron Von Lodge often wondered where the Lilliland tradition of waffles began. He even asked his trusted advisor, Professor Hamblin, who admitted he did not know when or where the tradition came from. Lady Angela of Alpine Castle believed that a distant relative heard that the first waffles came from France or Belgium. She was certain about that.
Some Germans who ordered the waffles ordered a side order of sausages and claimed that villages near the Black Forests of Germany had waffles too.
This just added to the confusion, but wherever they came from made a wonderful conversation. The smell of the waffles being baked woke people up in the morning and got them ready to hike the Alpine Mountains with a good breakfast under their belts. Everyone liked to start the day off right with the Lilliland waffles.
