olk Dancing Lilliland Style
|
aron Von Lodge was the head of a small country known as Lilliland near Switzerland. The time was the early 1900s.
The beautiful Alpine Mountains and the shimmering large Castle Lake made Lilliland a wonderful vacation spot for all the people of Europe.
During the day there was skiing, mountain climbing, sailing, and horseback riding. These were some of the numerous activities people liked about Lilliland. In the evenings they liked dining and dancing in the grand ballroom of the old stately Grand Lilliland Hotel. The days and evenings were filled with just the right balance of activities that people on holiday loved to do.
The Baron, with Lady Angela of Alpine Castle, made the rounds by attending many of the social festivities of Lilliland. The Baron was engaged to Lady Angela and there was a lot of talk about the upcoming royal wedding.
When vacationing tourists attended these dances and met the royal couple they often spoke of the meeting as one of the nicest parts of the their vacation.
The folk dancing that the people of Lilliland preferred was the waltz. The men attended these dances in formal attire, as did the women. The men wore tuxedos and the women wore full-length ball gowns. The dances were very attractive events with all the participants waltzing around the dance floor at the Grand Lilliland Hotel to the music of Strauss. Everyone agreed that it was a beautiful sight to behold.
