hops Tourists Love in Lilliland
|
aron Von Lodge was the head of a small country known as Lilliland near Switzerland. The time was the early 1900s.
Lilliland, with its beautiful Alpine Mountains and lovely lakes was the ideal place to plan for a vacation. It was truly an outdoor sportsman's ideal vacation spot.
But Baron Von Lodge would oftentimes consult with his fiancée, Lady Angela of Alpine Castle, to see if she thought that the visitors to Lilliland all had a good time.
Lady Angela would remind the Baron that many people liked to the visit the marketplace. The farmers would bring their harvests of fresh fruits and vegetables into the marketplace on Saturday mornings. But that was only one day a week. Lady Angela thought that the Baron should have the marketplace open Monday through Saturday for all the people who liked to shop while on vacation.
Therefore, the Baron encouraged all the craftsmen and artists to open shops for the tourists to visit and shop in every day. The products of Lilliland would be featured and there would be some shops for tourist information and announcements of coming events, which would be happening in the near future, that tourists might like to see.
In the past the large hotels would arrange for their own events for the people who were staying at their hotel. But the small hotels did not have these opportunities available. By combining all the events and making them open to the tourists, then the events would become more popular with higher attendance. The marketplace soon became the center for events, crafts, and entertainment for all the people of Lilliland and their guests.
