ome time ago Baron Von Lodge was the head of a small country near Switzerland known as Lilliland.

Professor Hamblin, the Baron’s chief advisor, required more space and the Baron suggested that the east wing of the castle, which was used as secondary guest quarters, be made available for his requirements.

The Professor began preparing the east wing as an extension of his library, office and living quarters. This undertaking involved some major changes in the layout of the rooms.

But one day, the Professor decided to resign claiming his work was done and he was no longer needed. The resignation was quite sudden and caught the Baron by surprise.

Lady Angela was told of Professor Hamblin’s resignation, she and the Baron immediately needed to come up with a plan to have the Professor change his mind.

They thought of many things to tell the Professor but nothing was to their satisfaction.

Finally an idea hit the Baron. Hamblin was first and foremost a university professor. University professors require sabbaticals every seven years. They are given a year off and half their university salary to travel.

The Baron and Lady Angela met with Professor Hamblin to offer him a full year sabbatical to do as he wished, to travel, revisit Cambridge University, Oxford University, and anything else he wished to do.

Professor Hamblin was delighted with the offer and accepted at once. The Baron and Lady Angela seemed very relieved.
