ousin Kathy Visits
|
ome time ago Baron Von Lodge was the head of a small country near Switzerland known as Lilliland.
The Baron’s fiancée, Lady Angela of Alpine Castle, received word that Cousin Kathy from America would like to accept the long-standing invitation to visit Lilliland.
Lady Angela had not seen Kathy for a long time and only remembered her as a very young child. Now that she was a young woman, just graduated from high school, she might not recognize her when she arrived.
Lady Angela, upon receiving the time when Kathy would be coming, asked that she send a recent picture of herself, perhaps a picture during her graduation. That way, the picture would only be a few weeks old and she would be recognized at once upon her arrival.
Lady Angela thought that nothing would be more embarrassing than when the train arrived from Paris, she would welcome the wrong person.
The Baron and Lady Angela talked about the upcoming visit and wondered what a young lady would like to do during her stay in Lilliland. Kathy did not mention whether her stay would be long or short. Would she be returning to America to attend college in the fall?
Finally, it was agreed that a variety of activities would be made ready to see what she would like to do during her visit.
Unfortunately, during her arrival at the train station, Kathy fell over her luggage and broke her foot. The visit started off with a trip to the hospital and her foot placed in a cast. The cast would have to be worn for two weeks. Then it would be removed and she could hobble around Alpine Castle and grounds on a crutch.
The first two weeks, Kathy had met everyone and seemed to be enjoying her visit. After the cast was removed and she could move around normally again, she wanted to go sailing and horseback riding.
Kathy also liked to browse in the Lilliland Library to learn about her ancestors who used to live in Lilliland.
