ysterious Albert

ome time ago Baron Von Lodge was the head of a small country near Switzerland known as Lilliland.

The security patrol of Lilliland wanted to keep up-to-date regarding any security problems in other countries that might be heading toward Lilliland.

One recurring visitor of dubious distinction was the infamous Mysterious Albert, known for his plots to destroy the royal families of Europe. He did not want to hurt anyone, but to destroy only the trappings of royalty, such as the manor houses and castles. He would go to great lengths to be sure that one royal family member would be in the castle or manor house at the time of his vengeance.

Unfortunately, Mysterious Albert was not very lucky in executing his plan. He decided to flood one manor house by blocking a river and having the water flood the house area. But the river dried up because of an unseasonable drought. Then he decided to set a castle on fire, but he forgot to notice the presence of rain clouds and the rainstorm quickly put out the fire before any damage was done.

Then quite suddenly, Mysterious Albert completely dropped out of sight and was not heard from. Several years went by and there was no sighting of Mysterious Albert.

Some time later, an old friend of Albert’s saw him in Wales. The friend spoke with him and Albert introduced his friend to his beautiful wife, Duchess Anna.

Later the friend asked Albert what he had been doing for the past several years.

Albert said that he had changed his attitude toward royal families completely. He added that “if you cannot lick them, why not join them,” which is what he did. He then became a Duke because his wife was a Duchess.

Now Duke Albert said that he made full restitution for the plots and mistakes that he made.

When the information about Duke Albert and the Duchess Anna reached the Baron and Lady Angela, they were both very pleased.

Time would show that Duke Albert and Duchess Anna would become proud and upstanding member among the royal families of Europe.

They were most welcome in Lilliland.
