now Globe Magic

ome time ago Baron Von Lodge was the head of a small country near Switzerland known as Lilliland.

A dear friend, Kelly Allison, asked Lady Angela of Alpine Castle, the Baron’s fiancée, to look after her horse while she would be in a hospital in Switzerland. Kelly was ill, but hoped to be fully recovered within a few months. The horse was named Alice and was a favorite. Lady Angela agreed to look after Alice for the duration of her friend’s hospital confinement.

Everything went well for the first two months, but then Lady Angela noticed that Alice had stopped eating and seemed very sad. A vet was called in who said that the horse, Alice, was very lonely for her master, Kelly. The vet said that horses have been known to die from a broken heart and hoped that the horse’s master would soon come home.

In the meantime, Lady Angela was looking at a snow globe with a small glass pony in it that rotated and played a tune. It was Kelly’s favorite tune.

Lady Angela was getting deeply concerned about Alice and decided to see if she could bring Kelly back to Lilliland to be reunited with Alice soon, before it got too late. The doctors at the hospital said that Kelly was not ready to be released and could not yet travel to Lilliland.

Finally, Lady Angela took the snow globe to the stables and placed it near Alice and wound it up so that it started playing the tune that her friend loved so much.

The horse first looked away, but then slowly turned and began to watch the snow globe and seemed to recognize the tune that it was playing.

Something began to work. Alice seemed to respond a little, and later seemed to look enthusiastic.

Evidently the music of the snow globe reminded Alice of Kelly and that made her feel better.

In a few weeks Kelly would leave the hospital in Switzerland and return to Lilliland. It was a joyous reunion and the horse and Kelly were very happy again.

Lady Angela told Kelly about the snow globe experience and Kelly said that she often played the music for Alice.

It all worked out very nicely.
