mall Tattoo That Made a Difference

ome time ago Baron Von Lodge was the head of a small country near Switzerland known as Lilliland.
The Baron tried to keep in touch with his old school classmates from when he studied in England. One of his classmates was coming to Lilliland to visit and he was bringing along his fiancée.
They all liked to go sailing so several sailing trips on Lilliland Lake were planned.
The day of the visit came and his classmate, Robert Wells, with his fiancée, Judy Bloom, were greeted by the Baron and Lady Angela of Alpine Castle, the Baron’s fiancée. A reception was held at Lilliland Castle and everyone had a good time. Judy Bloom was a very charming and attractive young lady and she got along very well with everyone, including Lady Angela.
The Baron was sure that his friend, Robert, and fiancée, Judy, would be an ideal couple and be very happy together.
The next day, they all went sailing and had a picnic. Judy was wearing the typical women’s sailing attire and someone noticed that she had a small tattoo of a flower on her shoulder. No one said anything and everyone pretended not to notice the tattoo. After all, it was very small, only about an inch and a half in size.
But the next day, the Baron noticed a slight change in the behavior of his friend, Robert. At first the Baron thought that it was just a case of too much sunburn from sailing. Then the following day, Robert was still not acting as cheerfully as on the day they arrived.
In a quiet private moment, the Baron asked Robert if something happened at the castle that made him feel uncomfortable. Robert said that he never noticed the tattoo on Judy’s shoulder before. But when she wore the sailing outfit, he noticed it. The tattoo on his fiancée’s arm was something that he did not care for at all.
The Baron said that tattoos are permanent and he must just accept it. Robert said, “Never,” and he planned to break off his engagement because of the tattoo. “It is like being branded for life and I never want to see it again,” he said. He broke off the engagement that afternoon and sent Judy back to England immediately.
The Baron and Lady Angela were very surprised but there was nothing that they could do. A few days later Robert left and returned to England by himself.
The Baron said to Lady Angela that everyone seemed to have different tastes in things and it seemed that the tattoo spoiled it all for them.
