lpine Castle is Haunted
|
aron Von Lodge was the head of a small country known as Lilliland near Switzerland. The time was the early 1900s.
The Baron is engaged to his lifelong love, Lady Angela of Alpine Castle. Alpine Castle is on Castle Lake just a few miles away from Lilliland Castle. By horseback, they are just twenty minutes away from each other. They can also visit each other by a short boat ride on Castle Lake.
One night, Lady Angela arrived in a very frightened state at Lilliland Castle. She said that she had been hearing strange noises and hearing sounds like people moaning. The Baron became very concerned and had Lady Angela stay in the guest quarters in Lilliland Castle. The next morning, the Baron, with Lady Angela and the Castle Royal Security Patrol, would investigate the activities at Alpine Castle. For three weeks a group of experts covered all the areas of Alpine Castle and found nothing. Lady Angela returned on the fourth week and the second night she was there, it happened again - that strange haunting sound from deep in the castle.
Baron Von Lodge summoned Professor Hamblin from his cabin atop Alpine Mountain. If the problem could be solved, Professor Hamblin could do it. Upon his arrival, Professor Hamblin carefully inspected Alpine Castle. He asked for an architectural plan of the castle and a geological plan of the lake and the land around the castle. The plans were old, as was the castle, and not very accurate. But it was helpful for what the professor had in mind. He also asked Lady Angela to give him the exact time and dates of the haunting sounds. She was able to provide that information. Since Professor Hamblin has lived in Alpine Castle, he was able to fill in a lot of the blanks regarding unanswered questions. It turn out that the haunting sounds occurred once a month during a full moon. The old plumbing pipes from the castle to the lake would make a strange noise from the changing tide, caused by the full moon, in the lake. Lady Angela found it to be so and was happy again.
