lpine Chapel

ome time ago Baron Von Lodge was the head of a small country near Switzerland known as Lilliland.

Since Lilliland was a small country, space for building was at a premium. Many churches wished to build there but to accommodate all the requests would have been very impractical as far as the availability of land was concerned.

Lilliland did have an interdenominational chapel that held services for every one of all religions. But it was too small for all the many people who wished to worship at the same service.

The Baron met with Professor Hamblin, his chief advisor, to discuss the problem. It was decided to expand the chapel to accommodate a larger congregation. The service would be designed to include everything that people of different religions would approve.

But what was the original religion for which the Alpine Chapel was built? Historically, it was built for the Alpine religion that was to worship the Creator of Heaven and Earth also, to appreciate the beauty of nature and to treat all natural things with care and respect. The Golden Rule was encouraged and followed in everyday activities.

One of the concerns that the Baron faced every year was to keep Lilliland from expanding and outgrowing its boundaries. By design, it wanted to keep the population within normal numbers so as not to compromise the quality of life. Overcrowding of schools and hospitals would be an example of too much growth.

To immigrate to Lilliland was very difficult as compared to coming for a visit as a tourist. Immigration usually demanded difficult requirements. First, one had to have professional work, and, second, one had to sponsored by a family or relative. Unfortunately, Lilliland could be criticized for not being as open as other countries. But since Lilliland was so small, these requirements had to be taken into consideration. As a result, there was very little, if any, unemployment or poverty in Lilliland.

The Alpine Chapel offered the unique experience of living one’s religious life in a manner that each individual wished.
