an of Mystery, Cousin Franky Von Deubel

ome time ago Baron Von Lodge was the head of a small country near Switzerland known as Lilliland.

Baron Von Lodge’s fiancée, Lady Angela, lived alone in Alpine Castle just a short walk away from the Baron’s castle. While she lived alone, she did have ample staff and many guests and relatives who would visit from time to time.

She was very devoted to the Baron and they saw each other almost everyday. They were best friends and in love since their childhood. They shared a strong mutual trust in their devotion.

Lady Angela had a cousin, Franky Von Deubel, of the French Secret Service. Cousin Franky’s responsibility was to track down criminals that were engaged in counterfeiting French money and bring them to justice. His work involved going undercover and tracking them down in their secret hideouts to stop their illegal activities because it was undermining the integrity of the French Government. It was a very vital job. Von Deubel had to adopt many disguises and travel to many places.

However, when cousin Von Deubel would visit Lady Angela it was done with some secrecy and he would often have to wear his disguises. Therefore, to the castle staff and onlookers, Von Deubel appeared to be many different men visiting Lady Angela in private.

Some people thought that Lady Angela had taken on relationships with many secret lovers behind the Baron’s back.

When cousin Franky and the Baron met, they would often talk about his job and how people might think that Lady Angela had many boyfriends. But, since this was part of his job to look different to track the criminals down, it had to be accepted.

Professor Hamblin, the Baron’s chief advisor, was asked what he might recommend. The Professor said that there was nothing that should be done except to tell only a few trusted Alpine Castle staff members. Since cousin Von Deubel’s very life may depend on the success of his disguises, and if the criminals ever found out that he was a secret service agent, it could be fatal. Fortunately, they never found out and everything was fine.
