oyal Headless Horseman

ome time ago Baron Von Lodge was the head of a small country near Switzerland known as Lilliland.

The morning mist was slowly rising over Castle Lake just in front of Lilliland Castle. It was a wonderful sight to behold. That was, usually, but not this morning.

The people in the castle noticed a man sitting on horseback, by the lake, facing the front of the castle. There was nothing unusual about that since horseback riding along the lake was very popular in Lilliland.

What made this sight unusual was that the rider was dressed in clothing worn by nobility and he did not seem to have a head. He appeared headless and there was no blood on him at all.

The Baron and Professor Hamblin were called to the area to look at the strange sight.

Attendants from Lilliland Hospital took the body away for further investigation. The horse, a very handsome stallion, was lead off to the Lilliland stables for care and feeding.

Panic took place among the castle staff and later spread to all of Lilliland. Who was this strange royal headless horseman in front of the Baron’s castle?

The Professor went to the hospital to help in the evaluation of the body. The royal attire he wore came from a costume shop in nearby Switzerland. The headless body had special stitching on the neck area that only a surgeon could make.

The Professor reported the findings to the Baron and suggested that the body may have been a medical cadaver used by students in medical school. The nearest medical school was in Switzerland, which reported a missing cadaver. It was all a prank on Lilliland.

The cadaver was returned to the medical school and the joke was over. Except for the medical students who, if they planned on practicing medicine in Lilliland, they need not apply. Practicing medicine was a serious business and was not for jokesters.
