oxy Lady Sinks
|
ome time ago Baron Von Lodge was the head of a small country near Switzerland known as Lilliland.
Lady Angela of Alpine Castle, fiancée of the Baron, had a cousin, Lady Kathleen Foxworth, who stayed with her over the past two years. Her sailboat named Foxy Lady was moored permanently at the dock near Alpine Castle on the very large Castle Lake.
Lady Foxworth’s late husband died in a Swiss skiing accident two years ago and she had stayed in Lilliland as the houseguest of Lady Angela during her year of mourning. She slowly emerged from the mourning period with the love and care of Lady Angela and began taking her sailboat out into Castle Lake. The lake was a large lake approximately three miles across and ten miles long. Most of the time in the summer the lake was calm but sometimes a severe storm would come up and become dangerous.
The Baron and lady Angela always stressed sailing safety and always wore life vests. Foxy took the sailboat out for an early morning spin, which began as a fine summer day. She was alone and would always keep her life vest nearby, but she did not wear it as she should.
Suddenly, during the peaceful trip, a storm with severe lightening came up. A bolt of lightning hit the mast and the boat turned upside down.
When the Baron and Lady Angela learned of the boating accident, they immediately sent out a large search party. While the sailboat was quickly found, there was no sign of Foxy. A further search turned up nothing. It was as if she had completely disappeared.
Everyone was heart broken over the tragic event and very sad for a long time.
If only Foxy had had a boating companion with her, perhaps the results would have been different.
