he Mystery Statue of the Castle

aron Von Lodge was the head of a small country known as Lilliland near Switzerland. The time was the early 1900s.

Lilliland Castle was a centrally located place where tourists and visitors could gather and visit. The grounds and gardens were always beautifully kept and in perfect shape.

There was a very old section of the garden on the backside of the castle grounds that had been closed for many years. Last year the Baron ordered that section restored and opened as soon as it was presentable. The grounds and garden staffs had to clear and replant much of that area. The gardeners informed the Baron that it would probably take a year until it would be able to be reopened.

As the work on the old garden progressed, the gardeners noticed a very large old statue that had been covered with so many vines no one could recognize it. After the vines and other growth were cleared away, the Baron was called in the see the old statue. The Baron marveled at its beauty. Professor Hamblin, the Baron's chief advisor, was asked to find out the origin and purpose of the statue.

After an extensive inquiry, the professor said that the ten-foot statue was that of a seahorse. The statue dated back 1000 years and was made of a type of stone found only in Greece. Since Lilliland was 1000 years old, it was determined that the statue of a seahorse was a gift from the people of Greece. Further study found some Greek words and a date inscribed on the base of the statue. The Greek words did indicate that it was a gift to the Royal Family of Lilliland from the leaders of Greece.

The Baron invited all the citizens to the newly restored gardens to see this wonderful statue that was uncovered. Everyone liked the statue of the seahorse.
