re Lilliland Pets Neurotic?

aron Von Lodge was the head of a small country known as Lilliland near Switzerland. The time was the early 1900s.

A number of the citizens of Lilliland began telling the Baron that they were not pleased that their household pets were becoming neurotic. Neurotic in that the pets were very difficult to train in everyday household activities and expectations. They acted confused and unfriendly at times.

The Baron consulted with his chief advisor and also the veterinarian in Lilliland. After an extensive review of the problem, they came up with some probable causes to explain the pets' behavior problems.

The people probably loved their pets too much and the pets lacked even simple guidance. One person would train his pet to do something and another member of the same family would train the pet to do just the opposite. The command words would be the same and the pet would get confused and neurotic. For example, one family member might discipline the dog for getting on the couch. Every time the dog would go on the couch the person who trained him would command him to get off the couch. Another member of the family would sit on the couch and call to the dog to come up on the couch to be petted. No wonder the dog became neurotic since he never knew which was the correct behavior to stay out of trouble.

The Baron and the veterinarian set up free pet training classes to solve the problem and prevent it from happening in the first place. This made all the pet owners in Lilliland very happy.
