he Lilliland Scouts

aron Von Lodge was the head of a small country known as Lilliland near Switzerland. The time was the early 1900s.
The Baron was always concerned that some of the young people of Lilliland did not know what to do after school and they failed to appreciate the natural beauty of the Alpine Mountains or Castle Lake.
The Baron decided to see what types of activities could be offered to the young people of Lilliland.
Lady Angela of Alpine Castle, the Baron's fiancée, told him about a distant relative whose two children were in a nature type of organization. The organization was called the Boy Scouts for her son, and the Girl Scouts for her daughter. Lady Angela wrote to her distant cousin for more information. The Baron liked the information that Lady Angela received from her cousin about the scouts.
The Baron decided to form a group like the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and called it the Lilliland Scouts. Both boys and girls would be members in the same group. The Baron felt that one group was best rather than duplicating the efforts with two smaller groups. They would learn mountain lore, hiking, swimming, sailing, horseback riding, swimming and water safety, and first aid and rescue procedures.
The Lilliland Scouts would also serve as guides to assist the tourists find their way around Lilliland and make certain that they enjoyed their visit. The scouts would help with little children at day nursery and also at elder care centers. They would earn Lilliland Scouts certificates for their hours of help and quality work. The Lilliland Scouts program was a big success and all of the citizens liked it.
