ocking Chair

ometime ago Baron Von Lodge was the head of a small country near Switzerland known as Lilliland.

Professor Hamblin, the Baron’s chief advisor, was approached by a young man who worked at Lilliland Castle in the furniture shop. The young man, Ben Brown, wanted to leave the castle job and go into business for himself. But Ben did not have sufficient money to start the business. He had to borrow some money for the necessary equipment.

Ben approached the Professor to ask about a loan. While the Professor said that he usually did not loan anyone money, he might be interested in helping Ben.

Ben’s idea was to produce one style of furniture – a rocking chair. His philosophy was that most wood furniture was hard if it was unpadded, but his furniture would be very comfortable and still be unpadded. Just plain solid wood from the forests of Lilliland.

Ben would design and build a very comfortable piece of furniture of high quality hardwood and sell them in his small shop. He would build only one piece of furniture in three sizes: small, medium and large so that his rocking chair would be ideal for most people.

The Professor saw some of the designs and sizes and decided that he liked the comfort and quality very much. He would grant Ben the money to start making the rocking chairs.

Ben’s idea was to make the rocking chairs very comfortable and very stable so that every home in Lilliland would easily afford the chair.

The Professor like the chair so much that he ordered the first on for his official office in Lilliland Castle.

Lady Angela also liked the rocking chair so much that she ordered one for her office in Alpine Castle as well. The Baron also ordered a rocking chair.

Ben would give a chair to anyone with just a small deposit down and three months to pay it off. That person would have to qualify as a reliable citizen first.

Soon the rocking chair would be seen in many of the homes in Lilliland.

Many people highly recommended the rocking chair that Ben made for relaxation and comfort.
