wo Impostors
|
ometime ago Baron Von Lodge was the head of a small country near Switzerland known as Lilliland.
Two men, who acted as though they were of some royal status, claimed title to Lilliland. The Baron was notified of their intentions to claim they were heirs of Lilliland. Professor Hamblin, the Baron’s chief advisor, was notified of the presence of the two men. They claimed to be brothers and had documents to support their claim to the title and ownership of the castle that was occupied by the Baron and his staff.
The Professor consulted with the Baron’s legal experts. Unlike the many imposters of the past, these two men proved themselves brothers and had documents to prove royal lineage. This gave them some temporary royal privileges in Lilliland.
The two men where proven to be brothers and distant members of the royal family of Lilliland.
The Professor was in a quandary because if their case stood up in court, the Baron could be out of his rank and position. Since there was some remote chance that they could have a legal right to royal statues and buildings in Lilliland, the Professor proposed a settlement. It was not going to be a winner-take-all proposition, but a settlement.
The two brothers and their legal representatives were willing to reach a compromise rather than sustain a long legal battle.
The Professor and the Baron came up with the settlement proposition. The settlement would consist of giving them an old run down castle, which was unoccupied, at the far end of Lilliland. They would be given assistance to help fix up the old castle. They both would be given a royal title with some privileges. Both brothers were men of means so they could afford a royal life status. They would be invited to some royal functions.
Also they would agree, in turn, to drop any legal claim to anything else in Lilliland and they would admit to the royal family that the family and the Baron were of proper position. This would close the matter once and for all, forever and ever.
The offer was most generous and accepted by the two brothers. The old castle was restored to the point of being as attractive as it used to be.
Time would prove that the two brothers turned out to be gentlemen and men of their word. They would be a fine addition to members of the royal family of Lilliland.
