r. Magic

ome time ago Baron Von Lodge was the head of a small country near Switzerland known as Lilliland.

A retired magician named Edward Kline, known as Mr. Magic, used to perform his magical acts on Sunday afternoons in the Lilliland Park. But he restricted his magic to one trick only.

It seemed that when children lost a pet from sickness and death, it was exceptionally difficult on the child who had loved the pet so dearly. Usually the pet was a cat or dog and sometimes a bard or other small creature.

While parents tried very hard to comfort their child in a time of grief over the loss of the pet, it was not enough. That was when Mr. Magic was called in to help the children get over the loss of their pets.

The parents would go to Mr. Magic and tell him about the loss that the children had suffered. Mr. Magic asked for a recent picture of the child and then asked the parents to bring the child to the next Sunday’s magic show. Between the times of the first meeting with Mr. Magic and the magic show, the parents were asked to go to the Humane Society and locate a pet just like the one that was gone.

When the magic show started the child would be called from the audience and with the help of a large magic hat, a pet for the child would appear.

Mr. Magic would say to the child that he knew of the great loss of the previous pet and that this new pet would like to come and be part of the child’s family and new best friend.

Mr. Magic was usually successful in helping the child to get over the loss of a pet. Mr. Magic did not charge anything for the magic show. He said that he was only glad to see the child’s face go from a frown of sadness to a joyous smile at having a new pet.
