he Grizzly Bear

ome time ago Baron Von Lodge was the head of a small country near Switzerland known as Lilliland.

One morning the citizens of Lilliland were startled when they saw a grizzly bear that had wandered into town overnight.

Everyone was alarmed and did not know what to do. They were afraid to go outside to go about their daily business. A brave group of citizens got some poles and rope and decided to capture the creature. This might involve hurting the bear but it seemed that was the only solution. Unfortunately, after a few firm whacks with the long poles, the beast became angry and began to growl. Things were getting worse until someone in the group noticed that the bear was wearing a collar. Then someone else noticed that the collar resembled a collar worn by trained circus animals.

Another individual said that there was a circus traveling in the area and maybe the bear was part of a circus act.

The circus was promptly contacted and asked if they were missing a bear.

The circus people quickly replied and said that one of their entertaining bears had wandered off during the night. The bear’s cage door had been left unlocked and the bear simply walked out of the cage into the night.

The circus was immediately sending the animal trainer to Lilliland to retrieve the bear. When the trainer arrived he found his pet bear held up in a corner very frightened. But when the bear saw his friend the trainer, he quickly became very calm and friendly.

The trainer called the bear by the name of Fritz and the bear replied with a friendly sound. The trainer then attached a leash to the bear’s collar.

With the leash attached, the trainer and bear both walked out of town and back to the circus as if nothing had happened.

The people were very thankful that no harm had come to the bear and very glad the way everything turned out for the better.

Some of the people decided to accept the trainer’s kind invitation to come to the circus to see Fritz perform in the center ring.

They went to the circus and saw a very well trained bear doing many entertaining tricks.
