he Special Lilliland Cow

aron Von Lodge was the head of a small country known as Lilliland near Switzerland. The time was the early 1900s.
Lilliland is a country with a population of approximately 82,000 people. Its size is 20 miles, along Castle Lake, and 16 miles wide, or about 320 square miles. Next to the lake the land is flat but quickly ascends into the Alpine Mountains. The country is in the shape of an irregular rectangle.
Farming is the main activity of the citizens of Lilliland. All of the farmers like to meet at the market each Saturday to discuss the latest farming activity. One day, a farmer noticed that one of his cows was all white except with a black square mark on its side. The black square was in the exact shape of the map of Lilliland. The land where Lilliland abuts against the shoreline of Castle Lake is very irregular. The cow had the same irregular markings as the Lilliland shoreline.
The cow was brought to the Lilliland Castle for the Baron and Lady Angela to see. They both agreed that the cow did have the exact markings of the outline of Lilliland.
The Baron said that he would like the cow to occupy a place of honor and interest during the Harvestfest for everyone to see and admire. The Baron wanted a sign to be posted that told the name of the farmer and the name of the cow. The farmer's name was Peter Brown and the cow was Lila. A map of Lilliland and the official Lilliland flag were positioned next to Lila. Everyone liked the cow and thought Lila was a very special Lilliland cow.
