ree House Incident
|
ome time ago Baron Von Lodge was the head of a small country near Switzerland known as Lilliland.
While Lady Angela of Alpine Castle was a mature woman and engaged to the Baron, she still had a few childish memories that she was not quite ready to set aside.
One of those childish moments was to climb up into her tree house in the orchard.
Even the head gardener was given strict instructions to keep the tree house well maintained and out of bounds to wanderers.
So from time to time Lady Angela went out into the orchard and climbed up the tree to the small one-room structure near the top. She always hoped that no one would see her or take her picture. After all, how would that appear for the future Baroness of Lilliland to be seen climbing a tree? How Embarrassing!
Then one day it happened. As careful as Lady Angela was in her tree climbing, she had an accident. She fell out of the tree due to a loose branch. The gardener carried her back to her room and a physician was summoned. The physician found nothing broken, only some nicks and bruises.
The Baron heard of the news and rushed to her side. He was very understanding. After all, he fell off his horse a few times quite by accident.
Word would be released not giving the full details, only that Lady Angela would have to cancel her public appearances with the Baron for the next two weeks.
Finally Lady Angela recovered enough to return to her normal routine. She decided to keep the tree house in good shape but she would resist any temptation to climb up as she did as a very young girl.
The Baron was more understanding and suggested that a sturdy ladder with a railing be added to the tree house so that climbing would be much safer.
But Lady Angela declined the offer and decided to set aside her tree climbing days.
Professor Hamblin declined any comment to the Baron or Lady Angela saying that every time he tried to ski, he would fell down. “Very undignified for a professor,” he said.
