ld Cat Named Pisspot
|
ome time ago Baron Von Lodge was the head of a small country near Switzerland known as Lilliland.
Lady Angela, of Alpine Castle, was relating a story about an old pet cat to the Baron. The cat’s name was really Noelle, as in Christmas time, but she soon earned the dubious name of Miss Pisspot because of her bad habits. She had two litter boxes that were kept clean but most of the time she was not interested in using either one of them.
The cat had been a dearly loved member of the family for over fifteen years and the thought of moving her out of the house would not be a good idea. To try to discipline her would be difficult because of her advanced years.
Her constant misbehavior upset the calm routine of the household. The two other cats in the household seemed to have mastered the litter box awareness and used them without any concern.
Something needed to be done but if a decision was reached in haste, it might be regrettable later when it would be very difficult to reverse the decision.
The problem seemed to have no real clear-cut answer. The Baron had no suggestions to offer but suggested that Lady Angela might mention it to Professor Hamblin.
The Professor could not offer any point of view that would be helpful.
After the three of them put their heads together, the Baron, Lady Angela, and the Professor all agreed that this was one of life’s problems that you had to learn to live with.
Since the cat was in her advanced senior years, the best thing to do was continue to treat her with love and respect and hope for a miracle.
From time to time, miracles did happen but with Miss Pisspot, this might be asking too much.
Once, a maid shouted at the cat for misbehaving, but all this did was frighten the cat and she did not seem to understand why the maid was complaining.
One afterthought was to keep all the furniture covered with waterproof material so that the damage could be minimized.
There is no doubt about it – most pets are for people with lots of understanding and patience.
