laudia Howard Saves the Day

ome time ago Baron Von Lodge was the head of a small country near Switzerland known as Lilliland.

The Baron had been overworked tackling every problem that came up in Lilliland. As a result of trying to do too many things, the Baron was becoming very forgetful. Lady Angela of Alpine Castle, the Baron’s fiancée, and his chief advisor, Professor Hamblin, both noticed the forgetfulness that the Baron was developing.

It was mutually decided that the Baron’s staff needed an appointment secretary to help resolve the scheduling problems.

The Baron had asked Lady Angela to aid in the search to find a competent scheduling secretary. Then Lady Angela asked the Professor to assist in the search.

Professor Hamblin said that in a week he would be going to a reunion at Oxford University and with his faculty contacts he hoped to find an interested person to serve as the Baron’s appointment secretary. After all, Lilliland was a fine place to work and live.

The Baron and Lady Angela trusted the Professor’s judgment and agreed to the search that he would conduct at Oxford University.

The week soon passed and no word was heard from the Professor whether he had any success in finding a suitable employee for the Baron.

A note arrived from the Professor saying that he would be returning to Lilliland in two days and he would bring along a surprise for the Baron and Lady Angela.

Sure enough, the Professor arrived with a woman named Claudia Howard. She was the daughter of an Oxford University Dean that the Professor knew. Claudia was very efficient and very diplomatic. She would fit right into the way that Lilliland does things on both local and international levels. Claudia would be given a two-week trial period to see if she liked the position.

The two weeks quickly passed and Claudia liked her position very much. She also felt very comfortable with Lady Angela and all of the people in Lilliland.

The Baron, who prided himself on his efficiency, found that Claudia helped make everything run even more efficiently.
