ady Angela Abducted

ome time ago Baron Von Lodge was the head of a small country near Switzerland known as Lilliland.

The Baron and his fiancée often visited London on a holiday to see some of the plays in the West End.

A tragedy occurred during one such evening at the theater. Lady Angela was abducted during the intermission of one of the plays.

A secret message was sent to Scotland Yard stating that if the Baron wanted to see Lady Angela again, he had better release from the Lilliland prison a man by the name of Thomas R.

The Baron quickly contacted his chief advisor, Professor Hamblin. It seemed that Thomas R. was in prison because of a robbery, but the Professor found that the state’s case against him was not very strong.

The Baron decided to make the exchange. Thomas R. would be released from the Lilliland prison and brought to Paris to the park by the Eiffel Tower where the exchange would be made.

The time of the exchange came and all went as planned. Lady Angela was released and safe with the Baron.

After this harrowing experience, they immediately returned to Lilliland.

The Baron felt very joyous about the return of Lady Angela and said that he would never have gotten over it if something had happened to her.

When the Baron and Lady Angela met with Professor Hamblin, the topic of security and personal safety was discussed to see if something could be done to add to the protection of the couple when they traveled, as well as at home. They agreed that in the future, they would travel with a female and a male bodyguard dressed in plain clothes so as not to attract undue attention to their secret role of protecting the Baron and Lady Angela.

A few weeks later, the Baron received a message saying that the body of Thomas R. was found in the Seine River in Paris. A note in a watertight envelope was found with the body that said that Thomas R. was a member of a rival gang that would murder people for money. The two gangs were at war with each other all the time.

The Professor speculated on whether Thomas R.’s release was arranged by his friends or his enemies. Was the release part of a plan to get to Thomas R. in the streets of Paris or was it just the opposite?

No one would ever know for sure about this strange incident.
