anishing Paint Incident

ome time ago Baron Von Lodge was the head of a small country near Switzerland known as Lilliland.

A shocking revelation reached Professor Hamblin’s attention. He quickly advised the Baron of the strange incident.

It seemed that one of the poorest churches in Lilliland had raised and saved money for a religious mural to be painted in the alter area of the church. But after it was finished, it began to disappear. It seemed that while the artist was very talented, the paint that he had been given had a disappearing characteristic. As soon as the paint dried, the natural humidity began to affect the mural until it all but disappeared. The Baron and the Professor looked at it first-hand to confirm that the stories were true.

The artist that did the mural was nowhere to be found. The church members did not have enough money to do the job over again. It was their church and their money and they were too proud to accept any charity. They were a very proud congregation.

Finally, the Professor had an idea. He contacted a famous painter in Paris to come to see the mural, or what was left of it. The painter arrived and evaluated the situation. The person who mixed the paint at the paint factory did not know what they were doing. But there was a way of restoring the mural to its original splendor.

The artist from Paris felt sure that the mural could be restored, but he did not have the chemicals or ability to do it. The only man he knew who could restore the mural was in China.

It would take two weeks to contact the man and to bring the necessary formula to restore the painting.

The Baron gave his full approval for the restoration attempt. When the man arrived from China, he looked at the badly faded mural and said that he could have his secret remedy ready the following day.

The day came and the man from China, true to his word, began to apply his strange clear shellac-like liquid to the entire mural. No one was allowed to watch the man from China, and no one was allowed to see the mural for one full day and night.

Finally, the day came and the mural was perfectly restored.

The Baron thanked the man from China who made so many people proud and happy.
