ome time ago Baron Von Lodge was the head of a small country near Switzerland known as Lilliland.

Cookie was the name of a Welsh corgi dog owned by, and inseparable companion for over 17 years of a sailor, Davy Love, from Marseilles Harbor.

Davie Love had a dockside apartment near his sailboat on Lake Lilliland. Lake Lilliland was quite large and could accommodate boats of all sizes.

When Davy Love would go out sailing, he would always take Cookie along with him. Davy had a special life vest made for Cookie in case a rough storm would wash her overboard. But that never happened because Davy and Cookie were both very careful sailors.

Cookie was a good sailor because she kept a lookout for anything that the skipper, Davy, needed to know. Sometimes, if another sailboat were heading directly toward her boat, she would warn the skipper to steer away to avoid a collision. Cookie even had a sense of what the channel marker buoys meant so that they would never run aground. But that was asking too much of a pet dog. Yet, Cookie was always there trying to be a good sailor.

One night while asleep in their dockside apartment, Cookie heard something around the boat docked nearby. It was an unusual sound, as if someone were trying to sneak on the boat and perhaps steal something of value. As the sound became more evident, Cookie decided to do something about the noise and turned to Davy Love who was fast asleep in his bed.

Cookie growled at first to see if that would wake Davy up, but he only stirred and kept on sleeping. Cookie decided to next grab the blanket and pull it off the bed. That would surely wake up Davy. And it did just that.

As Davy woke up, he turned to Cookie who was in a panic and he said, “What’s happening?”

Cookie looked toward the door and there ship. Sure enough, someone was on the boat trying to steal some important nautical parts. Davy immediately summoned for help and the dock security guards quickly came and arrested the thief.

The thief was a wanted crook with a reward to the person who captured him and brought him to justice.

Davy received the reward and gave it to his faithful companion, Cookie.
