uilts of Lilliland

aron Von Lodge was the head of a small country known as Lilliland near Switzerland. The time was the early 1900s.
Each year during the Harvest Festival there would be many arts and crafts on display. Lilliland is noted for its many talented artists and crafts people.
The Lilliland Quilt Society would always sponsor a contest to award the best quilt in Lilliland for that year. At the time of the announcement of the winner the new theme for the quilt would be announced so that the workers had a full year to work on their quilts. At the Harvest Festival last year it was announced that this year the theme would be "Beautiful Lilliland."
The judges had their hands full since there were so many entries this year. Some of the quilts emphasized the Alpine Mountains, other the mountain skiers, others the trees and flowers, still others had sailboats on Castle Lake. There were a total of sixty-seven quilts all with the theme of "Beautiful Lilliland."
The judges started making their selections. They would select the best twelve in the first round and during the second round reduce the finalists to six. The six would be presented to Baron Von Lodge and Lady Angela for the winning selection.
The prize presented by the Baron would be a valuable solid gold coin. Everyone liked the prize and worked very hard to win it.
The winning quilt of "Beautiful Lilliland" featured the beautiful swans of Castle Lake.
Everyone in Lilliland was very happy with the selection and thought that the workmanship was excellent. The quilt would be on display for everyone to see and enjoy.
