hree Ladies Angela of Alpine Castle
|
ome time ago Baron Von Lodge was the head of a small country near Switzerland known as Lilliland.
During one of their weekly meetings to discuss the affairs of Lilliland, the Baron’s chief advisor, Professor Hamblin, told them that something strange was occurring in Lilliland at the various evening restaurants. A woman, posing as Lady Angela, was standing up and asking the orchestra if she could sing a few songs. Lady Angela was at the meeting and learned about this situation for the first time. Another report followed that Lady Angela stood up in an evening restaurant and asked if she could tell some funny stories about life in her Alpine Castle.
Here were two women pretending to be Lady Angela of Alpine Castle and going around acting as though each were the real Lady Angela.
Professor Hamblin quickly noted that these two actors did not sign their name to any bill nor did anything dishonest except to pose as Lady Angela. The Baron said to Lady Angela, “Let’s find the impersonators and meet these two women in person.”
It turned out that the two women did not know each other until word reached them that there were three Ladies Angela in public, two impostors and one real Lady Angela.
The Baron and Lady Angela, in disguises, watched the two women, at two different times, at two different evening restaurants. It was noted that the two women worked for free and they seemed to be a part of an organized spoof of some kind.
Once the true identities of the two impostors were made known, both were invited to Alpine Castle to see which one did the best job of impersonating the real Lady Angela.
The two women were not arrested or charged with any crime since they did not steal anything. It was all a pretense.
It could have been more serious, but at this stage of the charade, it was just a lighthearted spoof of royalty.
Both the women performed for the real Lady Angela and the Baron. Lady Angela said that she like them both, in fact they seemed to do a better job acting more like the real Lady Angela than Lady Angela herself.
She suggested to the Baron that they both be hired in the event Lady Angela had to be in two places at the same time.
It was not nice to fool the public, but it was just a thought!
