uiet Little Orphan Boy

ome time ago Baron Von Lodge was the head of a small country near Switzerland known as Lilliland.

The winter holidays were always a festive time and it was a time when families got together to celebrate the achievements of the year. Homes were brightly decorated and everyone was in high spirits.

The Baron, Lady Angela and Professor Hamblin, the Baron’s chief advisor, often made plans that included a visit to the Lilliland orphanage. Any orphanage was a sad place during the holidays when everyone seemed to belong to a family somewhere.

The orphans were often invited to visit with families in Lilliland so that the season’s treats were shared by all.

One season, all the orphans were pleasantly situated with families in Lilliland. As the doors were closed since all the orphans were gone temporarily, the building was dark and very quiet.

The caretaker heard a small voice in the dark hall. Upon closer investigation he came across a small boy named Donny who was accidentally left behind. The little boy could talk but rarely did because he was shy and preferred to be very quiet.

Professor Hamblin was quickly notified about little Donny being left alone in the orphanage. The Professor contacted the Baron and Lady Angela who quickly went over to be with the boy.

Lady Angela took Donny to Alpine Castle where she lived. She first asked the boy if he would like to stay with her. Donny did not answer but nodded his head yes.

Upon arriving at Alpine Castle, Lady Angela made sure he was well fed because he had missed a few meals since everyone had forgotten him.

Donny, after eating and resting in a warm soft bed, started to look better. He was given some new clothes in hopes that he might feel up to attending church that evening. He spoke a little and said that he would like to go to church with them.

During the service at church everyone sang the hymns of the season. At first Donny did not sing. Then he began to hum along and soon he began to sing just like everyone else.

But Donny’s voice became very clear and his notes were perfectly beautiful. People stopped their singing to listen to the voice of the little boy. Someone whispered and said that his voice was that of an angel.

This made the Baron and Lady Angela very pleased that they had brought him along and that he was no longer forgotten.

Donny was soon adopted into a very talented musical family and everyone was happy.
