aron Von Lodge was the head of a small country known as Lilliland near Switzerland. The time was the early 1900s.
One of the favorite gathering places in Lilliland for visitors, tourists and the local citizens was the Lilliland Center Marketplace. The specific area in the marketplace was at the Lilliland Fountain. The fountain was fed by the cool, crisp, fresh water from the springs of the Alpine Mountains. It was pure delight.
The Baron heard that the people who visited the fountain for a refreshing drink of water were giving the water mystical healing powers for curing their aliments. The Baron sent a sample of the water to a scientific laboratory to see if the water was any different from other drinking water fed by a mountain spring.
As time went by, more and more people would line up to drink the water from the Lilliland Fountain. People would come from great distances to drink the water believing that it would cure their ailments or make them eternally youthful.
The report came back from the scientific laboratory that tested the drinking water and the results the Baron received were that the water was very pure but was not any different from any other mountain spring water. Any cures that the people had were the result of the power of suggestion. The Baron promptly had copies of the report posted for everyone to see so that they did not expect anything other than a clear, crisp, refreshing drink of water. The Lilliland people appreciated the Baron's thoughtfulness for having the water evaluated for the benefit of everyone.
