ighway Robbers of Lilliland

aron Von Lodge was the head of a small country known as Lilliland near Switzerland. The time was the early 1900s.

Lilliland is a wonderful place to vacation with the beautiful mountains and glistening lake. It was a winter wonderland.

A report was brought to the attention of the Baron that there were a large number of hotel cancellations due to the increasing number of visitors being stopped on the mountain highways and robbed. It appeared to be a familiar gang of five highway robbers that had been causing people to avoid coming to vacation in Lilliland for some time.

The Baron contacted a consulting detective in London and his associate to help in the investigation of these robberies. They were Sir Stephen Smyth and Dr. Thomas Hartson who arrived quickly and began working immediately on the case. They discovered that there was a pattern to the robberies. It was always the same coach line, at the same location on the highway, at the same time of night when there was no moon.

Sir Stephen Smyth and Dr. Thomas Hartson developed a plan to catch the criminals in the act. They would have the Lilliland police act as decoys, dress and act like tourists on a regular coach trip, and catch the criminals in the act.

The time came for the coach to leave the station for Lilliland with its passengers. The highway robbers jumped out at the predicted place to stop the coach. The Lilliland police jumped out of the coach and captured all the highway robbers in the act. The robbers confessed to all the robberies and returned all of the stolen property back to the rightful owners.

The Baron and all of the people of Lilliland thanked Sir Stephen Smyth and Dr. Thomas Hartson for their fine work.
