ister Patricia’s Extended Stay

ome time ago Baron Von Lodge was the head of a small country near Switzerland known as Lilliland.

Sister Patricia was well received in Lilliland though her stay had to be kept a secret because her convent in Russia was under attack by terrorists bent on preventing the practice of religion in the state.

Since it was clearly established that Sister Patricia was a relative and member of the royal Lilliland family, she was kept in hiding with Lady Angela in her Alpine Castle.

At night, Lady Angela would hear nightmarish screams coming from Sister Patricia’s bedroom. The screams seemed to say something. It sounded like, “You’ve got the secret in your robe.”

After several nights of these constant nightmares, Professor Hamblin, the Baron’s chief advisor, was asked to determine what the message meant. The Professor heard the screams for himself and determined that it was some secret message given to Sister Patricia while her captives locked her in the dungeon.

The Professor inspected the black robe that the nun wore upon her arrival and found nothing unusual. The castle’s seamstress checked all of the seams and found nothing except to note that there were some strange numbers on the label.

The numbers on the label in the robe had nothing to do with the size, shape or color of the robe or the name of the place that made the robe. It was just a plain religious robe that nuns wore everyday. The Baron looked at the label and said that since nuns take an oath of poverty, silence and obedience, why would the number resemble the number of a Swiss bank account?

A Swiss banker was called to Lilliland as a consultant to see if he could identify the number in the robe.

Sure enough, it was a Swiss bank account number. Swiss banks had identifiable numbers rather than names or their account to add to the privacy and confidentiality. The consultant said it looked like a number for an account at the largest bank in Switzerland.

Now, the Baron, Professor Hamblin and Lady Angela wondered why Sister Patricia would have been given this secret number.
