tranded Nurses
|
aron Von Lodge was the head of a small country known as Lilliland near Switzerland. The time was the early 1900s.
Lilliland is a wonderful place to visit and vacation. A group of twenty nurses were on a holiday enjoying the many sights of the Alpine Mountains and the very fine restaurants and numerous other enjoyable activities. The hotel where they were supposed to stay had a mix-up and they had to stay in a more expensive hotel. When it came time to leave, the hotel bill was more expensive than they had expected and the nurses did not have enough money to pay the hotel bill and still afford the train tickets back to their home in Northern France.
The hotel officials contacted the public relations office and the travelers aid office in Lilliland. The Baron was also informed of the problem that the nurses faced, being temporarily stranded in Lilliland.
The Baron was aware that the Lilliland Hospital had a shortage of nurses. He hoped that if the visiting nurses enjoyed their stay in Lilliland, they might return to serve as nurses in the Lilliland Hospital.
The Baron met with the nurses and the hotel management and the railroad ticket officers in the hotel meeting room. The nurses were very pleased with the results of the meeting with the Baron. The Baron arranged for the hotel bill to be taken care of and the train tickets would be provided for all the nurses to return to Northern France on time.
When the nurses returned home, the Baron received a thank you letter from all the nurses and two of them later joined the staff at the Lilliland Hospital.
