aron Von Lodge was the head of a small country known as Lilliland near Switzerland. The time was the early 1900s.
The Baron had been engaged to Lady Angela of Alpine Castle for three years. Everyone in Lilliland had been waiting and wondering when the Royal Family would announce a wedding date.
Finally, at the New Year’s Eve banquet at Lilliland Castle, the Baron announced that there would be a June wedding. It would be on the first Saturday in June.
Guests from everywhere, including France, Germany, England, the United States, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, plus some additional countries, would be invited. Their representatives would attend the Royal Wedding.
The wedding was being held in the Lilliland Castle Chapel. The chapel was next to Castle Lake connected by a small moat.
The morning of the Royal Wedding was an unusually foggy day. But, as the noon hour of the wedding approached, the fog cleared and it was a cheerful sunny day.
The Baron, dressed in his royal outfit, never looked more handsome and Lady Angela, dressed all in white, looked very beautiful.
As the ceremony ended and the priest pronounced them husband and wife, everyone was intrigued to see a group of beautiful white swans appear behind the altar next to the couple as if to bless them.
The priest said that he had never seen that before, although the swans would occasionally rest outside the church next to the lake.
The appearance of the beautiful swans was considered a blessing from them to the marriage of the Baron and Baroness of Lilliland.
Suddenly the alarm clock rang in the Baron's bedroom. It was time to wake up from a wonderful dream about his royal wedding. The Baron hoped that the wedding would soon be more than just a dream. But it was a very wonderful dream anyway, he thought.
