ld Locket

aron Von Lodge was the head of a small country known as Lilliland near Switzerland. The time was the early 1900s.

At one of the many dinner parties in the Grand Banquet Hall of Lilliland Castle, the Baron’s fiancée, Lady Angela of Alpine Castle, lost an old, favorite locket. She immediately told the Baron who asked all of the castle staff to look for the missing locket.

Lady Angela said that the old locket had a loose clasp on it and it was understandable that the clasp may not have held and it fell off during the dinner.

The old locket had two pictures in it of Lady Angela’s great grandparents. The locket had only sentimental value as a family heirloom and meant a great deal to Lady Angela.

Three or four days later, Sara, a dining room serving girl, approached Professor Hamblin, the Baron’s chief advisor, with a unique situation.

She had a private meeting with the Professor about finding the old locket. Sara said that she found the old locket under the dining room table and kept it for a few days because she recognized the two people in the pictures.

Sara had come to work at the castle as an orphan. She was a good worker and everything seemed to be working out well for Sara.

The Professor checked into Sara’s story about recognizing the pictures in the old locket as being her relatives. The Baron was informed of this and the old locket was returned to Lady Angela. Lady Angela said that Sara could borrow the old locket until her story could be confirmed.

A distant relative of Lady Angela’s came forward to confirm Sara’s story. It now seemed that Lady Angela and Sara were distant relatives.

The Professor checked further into Sara’s story and found that she had a close relative who was the head of a school in England. She was contacted at the school and Sara was invited to visit her.

A month later a report came back from England about Sara’s relative who turned out to be a cousin and wanted Sara to stay in England and attend school there. She also wanted Sara to eventually study at the university.

Since Professor Hamblin had been a teacher at Cambridge University, he liked the idea about Sara’s plans for the future. And this whole new life began over the finding of an old locket on the floor under a dining room table.
