aternity?

aron Von Lodge was the head of a small country known as Lilliland near Switzerland. The time was the early 1900s.

One day, Lady Angela of Alpine Castle, the Baron’s fiancée, received a strange letter from a woman in Paris. She claimed in the letter that while the Baron was visiting in Paris, they met. They had many romantic dates and as a result she was now carrying his child.

Lady Angela was raised in a royal family and knew that many tricks would be tried on family members to cause an embarrassment to the country. She consulted Professor Hamblin at once to show him the letter. Since Professor Hamblin was the chief advisor to the Baron he would know what to do about the situation.

Without informing the Baron, Professor Hamblin went to Paris to meet with the woman who wrote the letter. The Professor wanted to find out the exact dates that the Baron was in Paris according to her claim. The meeting was brief and the Professor quickly returned to Lilliland to meet with Lady Angela.

After Lady Angela checked over her schedule, it was determined that the days the Baron was supposed to be in Paris and with the woman, she and the Baron were in Scotland visiting Lady Angela’s cousin.

Professor and Lady Angela met with the Baron to tell him about the false claim the woman made against him. The plan they made was for the Professor to return to Paris with a picture of the members of the staff to see if one of them was the person thought to be the Baron.

Sure enough, when a picture of the real Baron was shown to the woman, she said that it was not the right person. When she was shown a picture of the castle staff, she said that it was one of them. Evidently, a member of the staff who wore the same size clothing as the Baron borrowed some clothes to pretend to be the Baron during his holiday in Paris.

The woman apologized in a letter to the Baron and dropped all charges. The imposter was brought to justice and made to pay for his mistakes. After the imposter served his jail time and released, he was never to be seen in Lilliland again.

Lady Angela had been trained well not to accept everything as being true until a complete investigation was done. Everyone was happy in Lilliland again.
