lpine Mountain Music

aron Von Lodge was the head of a small country known as Lilliland near Switzerland. The time was the early 1900s.
Often when the Baron and Lady Angela of Alpine Castle took their morning horseback ride along the bridal path next to Castle Lake they spoke of the enjoyment of the scenery and wildlife.
The morning mist rose off the crystal-clear water, the birds sang and the swans paraded by. It was almost like music to hear the call of nature.
Lady Angela thought that it might be a good idea if somehow the music of the Alpine Mountains could be written down and played by a group of musicians who knew first hand about the feelings stirred by the mountains. One friend said that the mountains seemed to inspire his soul.
With the suggestions from Professor Hamblin and Lady Angela, a local composer was commissioned to prepare a piano concerto for Lilliland.
The Professor invited the composer to spend two weeks at his mountaintop chateau where he could concentrate, undisturbed, on the music.
After the two weeks were over the composer played the piano concerto for the Baron, Lady Angela, and Professor Hamblin. While the piece was very good, it was not exactly what the Baron had in his mind. Lady Angela invited the composer to make his revisions as a houseguest at her Alpine Castle. She was planning to be away so he would have complete run of the castle.
Alpine Castle was on Castle Lake so perhaps the combination of the mountains in the background, together with the lake might be exactly what the composer needed to rework his concerto.
Finally the piece was ready and all of the revisions were in place. The composer played the piano in the Grand Hall at Lilliland Castle for the Baron, Lady Angela and the Professor to hear once again.
It was wonderful; it was inspirational; with your eyes closed, it sounded just like Lilliland. Everyone was pleased. The Baron liked it so much that he wanted everyone who visited his country to hear the music. The people of Lilliland were very proud of the piano concerto created for their country and it pleased everyone.
