rip to Scotland
|
aron Von Lodge was the head of a small country known as Lilliland near Switzerland. The time was the early 1900s.
Forty of the senior citizens of Lilliland saved for a long time to afford a trip to Scotland. For some if was a vacation; for others it was to visit relatives. They had bake sales and did some baby sitting to raise the funds. A new travel agency in Lilliland took their money and made all the arrangements for a ten-day trip to Scotland for all of the forty citizens. All was going well and the plans seemed just right for everyone. Three days before the trip was to start, the travel agency closed its doors and ran off with all of the money. The owner of the travel agency was nowhere to be found. Everyone was sad and it looked like the trip to Scotland was going to be cancelled, and no one would get any of the money returned.
The Baron heard about this unfortunate situation and wanted to do something about it. He called in his security officers to search for the owner of the travel agency. He also consulted with Lady Angela of Alpine Castle as to what else he might do. Lady Angela said that she had a relative in Edinburgh. They lived in a large castle and have always asked Lady Angela to visit with the Baron. Lady Angela contacted her relatives and asked if they could visit and bring along forty senior citizens. The relatives said that everyone was most welcome. The Baron and Lady Angela took a train to the English Channel, then crossed by boat and took a train the rest of the way to Edinburgh. The castle they were to visit was very large and the extra forty guests were hardly noticed. Everyone had a wonderful time and made a lot of new friends. After the ten-days were over, everyone returned to Lilliland happy that the trip was a great success. The Baron and Lady Angela were praised with many thanks for caring for the group.
The owner of the travel agency was found and arrested in France trying to do the same thing to another group there. All of the money was recovered and returned to the seniors. The forty citizens decided to use the money to have a party for all of the residents of Lilliland. The party was a very joyous event and everyone was happy the thief was caught and the problem resolved.
