bout Professor Hamblin

aron Von Lodge was the head of a small country known as Lilliland near Switzerland. The time was the early 1900s.

The Baron's chief advisor was Professor Hamblin. The Professor was hired to be the Baron's tutor during his younger years. The Professor was to retire after the young Baron completed his studies and was prepared for his academic years at Cambridge University in England. The Professor was on the faculty at Cambridge before the young Baron's father offered him the teaching position. To entice the Professor to come to Lilliland, he was offered his own private suite of rooms in Lilliland Castle, plus complete run of the castle, a large salary, and upon retirement a chateau atop a nearby peak in the Alpine Mountains.

The young Baron attended and was graduated with honors from Cambridge and spent an additional year of study at Paris University in France. Upon his return home, his father made him the Baron of Lilliland.

Once the Baron accepted his title and responsibilities of the position, he asked Professor Hamblin to become his chief advisor. The Professor said he would accept the position if he could spend most of his time in the promised chateau in the mountains. Since the chateau was only two hours away by chair lift, plus a short hike, the Baron accepted the Professor's terms.

History will recall that having Professor Hamblin as the Baron's advisor would help ensure the future of Lilliland by keeping up-to-date with current world affairs.

While the Professor was still tutoring the young Baron, it was agreed that lady Angela of Alpine Castle, just two years younger than the Baron, would also be tutored. Lady Angela was being educated as she was to become the wife of the Baron when they grew up. She would be of great help in affairs of state in governing Lilliland. Lady Angela was very bright and pretty and was loved by all the citizens.

Professor Hamblin was a very fine teacher and prepared both the future Baron and Baroness by emphasizing the special care and training it would take to solve the complex problems of the country. The Professor said time and time again that through proper dedication and research into important elements of complex problems, a successful solution would become evident. The proper use of library skills was paramount in their education and he helped make the future of Lilliland very bright.
