moking Room

ome time ago Baron Von Lodge was the head of a small country near Switzerland known as Lilliland.
Safety first was one of the primary concerns of the Baron when he met with his chief advisor, Professor Hamblin, to discuss the affairs of state. Usually the major topic was about making skiing in the Alpine Mountains of Lilliland a safer sport but lately, the topic of interest, hotel rooms, was receiving greater attention.
It seemed that vacationers were smoking in bed and falling asleep with a lit cigarette. The bed covers caught fire and the several people were severely burned. The entire room could catch fire if the problem was not corrected in time.
All of the representatives of all the hotels in Lilliland were called to a special meeting with the Baron, Professor Hamblin, the Baron’s chief advisor, the fire chief, and the director of tourism.
The problem of primary concern was how to prevent smoking in bed. They all met for some time and there were many proposals mentioned. The one proposal that seemed to be the most agreeable to all parties concerned was to establish a smoking room in each and every hotel and guesthouse. If someone wanted to smoke in safety, he could go to a specific room that was so designed to be less of a fire hazard. No one could smoke in his room but would have to go to the smoking room.
While some people would look at this as an inconvenience, others would see it as a good idea when weighed against the terrible suffering of being burned by falling asleep with a lit cigarette.
If someone disobeyed the rule and did not go the smoking room to smoke, and they were caught, they were simply asked to leave the hotel. They would not be considered a welcome guest.
The smoking room was one important step in making the tourists’ visits as safe as possible.
When the meeting was over, the Baron thanked everyone for attending and if anyone had any further ideas on how to keep Lilliland a safer place, the suggestion would be most welcomed.
