ady Angela’s Cat, Mr. Whiskers
|
ome time ago Baron Von Lodge was the head of a small country near Switzerland known as Lilliland.
Lady Angela of Alpine Castle, the Baron’s fiancée, began sharing a unique story of how her cat, named Mr. Whiskers, would want to travel with her when she took overnight trips.
When the Baron would take a trip to another country, he would almost always ask Lady Angela to go along. That way they could make the trip both for business and pleasure.
But when Lady Angela had her maid bring out her suitcases, there would always be a concern as to what Mr. Whiskers might be up to. It seemed that Mr. Whiskers wanted to stow away and go along on the trip. At first Mr. Whiskers would just jump in the open suitcase, but he was always spotted and gently removed. Later, the cat would hide deeper inside the luggage where he was not as easy to spot.
Generally, the maids were reminded by Lady Angela to find out where Mr. Whiskers was at all times to make sure that he was not up to his old tricks.
Mr. Whiskers was a very devoted cat and always wanted to be beside Lady Angela as she went about her business in Alpine Castle. At night, Mr. Whiskers would sleep next to Lady Angela at the foot of her bed. If Lady Angela awoke and did not see Mr. Whiskers on the bed, she would almost always find him looking out her bedroom window.
On this one particular trip, everything was packed and the suitcases were inspected to make certain that Mr. Whiskers was not hiding inside. Then they were all securely locked and ready for the trip.
But wait, Mr. Whiskers was not inside the luggage but also not found outside the luggage. Mr. Whiskers was nowhere to be found.
Finally, all the maids and castle employees were asked to search everywhere in the castle in a desperate attempt to find Mr. Whiskers before Lady Angela left to go away with the Baron.
Someone found Mr. Whiskers in an unusual place in one of the guest bedrooms with another cat. It seemed that Mr. Whiskers found a lady friend to occupy his interest.
Mr. Whiskers would now be spending part of his time with his new love interest and part of the time with Lady Angela. She was very pleased with the new arrangement.
The Baron was amused by the story about Mr. Whiskers.
