ong of Lilliland
|
aron Von Lodge was the head of a small country known as Lilliland near Switzerland. The time was the early 1900s.
As Baron Von Lodge and Lady Angela of Alpine Castle traveled around the world they noticed that the school children would sing songs about their native country. The school children of Lilliland had no such song to sing. The Baron and Lady Angela decided that a song would be written for everyone in Lilliland to sing. The music teachers were asked to prepare such a song.
The song was prepared and sung by the school children for the Baron and Lady Angela. The song was called "We, the Citizens of Lilliland." Both the Baron and Lady Angela liked the song but before they gave final approval, they needed to see if the senior citizens of Lilliland liked the song and could sing it. The seniors tried singing the song and they liked it. Now at every public gathering and family reunion, the song can be heard all around Lilliland and in the Alpine Mountains. This is the song, "We, the Citizens of Lilliland."
We are happy citizens!
Happy citizens are we!
We live in Lilliland,
The best country and will ever see,
Scenic views, skiing, sailing, and camping.
We like them all because
They're a big part of Lilliland.
The Baron quietly tried to sing the song to Lady Angela and, for a man who cannot sing a note, it did not sound too bad. At least that is what Lady Angela said.
