nna Snow From Canada
|
ome time ago Baron Von Lodge was the head of a small country near Switzerland known as Lilliland.
The Lilliland Hotel was a very popular place for international tourists. The view of the snowcapped Alpine Mountains was breathless and the view of Lake Lilliland was something to behold. All this was easily seen from the patio deck of the hotel.
One of the hotel guests wondered why some of the citizens were staring at her. She was a typical guest, named Anna Snow, who came from Canada for a brief visit.
Anna and her husband kept to themselves and did not ask for any special services. They were quite typical in all aspects. They were typical in dress style and choice of activities that Lilliland had to offer.
Finally, the constant staring got the best of Anna and she asked the manager of the hotel whether it was her imagination, or was this the usual way that people acted when they saw visitors, or what?
The hotel manager said very politely that Anna had a striking resemblance to Lady Angela of Alpine Castle. Lady Angela was a member of the royal family and engaged to Baron Von Lodge who was the head of the country. Anna thought for a moment then said, “Oh, that explains it.”
The hotel manager went to his office and brought back a recent picture of Lady Angela taken during one of her many visits to the hotel. “Yes,” Anna said. “I can see a slight resemblance.”
Later, during that same day, Anna was walking through the lobby of the hotel when, at the same time, Lady Angela was coming into the hotel to visit a friend. The spotted each other and they both paused. Lady Angela came over to Anna and introduced herself. They spoke briefly and seemed to enjoy the fact that there was a resemblance.
Then, as Lady Angela turned to leave, she suddenly changed her mind and asked Anna to come with her to the hotel tearoom for some afternoon tea. Anna agreed.
This was a fine opportunity to see if they shared any other similarities. Perhaps they had a common distant relative.
While no distant relative was identified, Anna said, “See, we are really just individuals who look somewhat alike.”
Anna said that she liked skiing, sailing and had a cat named Wilson. Lady Angela said that she liked skiing and sailing and had a cat named Mr. Whiskers.
They both laughed at that.
