riestly Problems

ome time ago Baron Von Lodge was the head of a small country near Switzerland known as Lilliland.

It was called to attention by several mothers in Lilliland that the new priest of the church was becoming overly familiar with the young alter boys. He would invite them to his private residence and inform them that they would be getting much needed religious instruction. But the religious instruction was nothing more than becoming overly familiar with the boys and touching them in an inappropriate manner.

The mothers of the young alter boys told Lady Angela of Alpine Castle, Lady Angela told the Baron, and the Baron asked Professor Hamblin, his chief advisor, to investigate.

After several weeks of investigation, the Professor said that there was a problem and the higher authorities of the church should be notified. The office of the head of the church said that they would look into the matter.

Three months passed and no action was taken in spite of additional complaints by the church members about the way that their children were being mistreated. Six months passed and still nothing happened. Finally, the Baron said that while he did not want to get involved with church business, he did want this problem to be resolved.

The Baron said that under his authority, if the church wanted to stay in Lilliland, they would have to require that priests travel in pairs and that they should not be in direct personal contact with anyone under age.

The church leadership agreed and the problem seemed to lessen. The first priest was transferred elsewhere and two new priests were assigned to the parish. As far as the relationship with young children was concerned, it would be the responsibility of the nuns.

The young alter boys who had suffered an unfortunate relationship with the priest were given appropriate counseling and guidance. They were innocent victims of someone they thought could be trusted and the many months of counseling would be given in hopes of not having any everlasting effects in their lives. They would be told again and again that they did nothing wrong, that the priest was way out of line, and that he had broken his sacred vows to the church.

The church would once again be warmly welcomed in Lilliland.
