r. Bully Bird
|
ome time ago Baron Von Lodge was the head of a small country near Switzerland known as Lilliland.
The Baron and his chief advisor met regularly to discuss the concerns of state to run Lilliland in a smooth and proper manner. Lady Angela, the Baron’s fiancée, often attended the meetings because her point of view was valuable.
Most of the time the topics were generally of a serious nature, but at one particular meeting Lady Angela wanted to discuss a problem that she was having in her private garden at the Alpine Castle. It seemed that one of the focal points in the garden was her birdbath. One bird had taken quite a fancy to the birdbath. Most birds flew over to the birdbath for a refreshing drink of water and splashed around for a bit, but this bird that Lady Angela nicknamed “Bully Bird,” stayed at the birdbath all day long and when other birds came around, he chased them off. Bully Bird was not a big or small bird, just an average sized bird with a strange attitude.
Lady Angela did not want to hurt the bird, only get it to share the birdbath with the other birds. She asked the Baron and Professor Hamblin what they might suggest if the topic was not too trivial.
Both the Baron and Professor were not sure what to do. But in a few minutes the Professor said that the bird could not be in two places at the same time. The Baron added that the bird could not be in three places at the same time either.
The same idea came to them all at the same time and that was to install three birdbaths temporarily. When Bully Bird was defending one birdbath that would leave two birdbaths for the other birds to use. And if Bully Bird decided to defend all three birdbaths, he would get dizzy flying from one birdbath to another.
The idea was tried and Bully Bird seemed confused and not sure what to do at first. Finally he decided to stay in one birdbath and give up on the remaining birdbaths. The other birds were very happy again.
Later one of the three birdbaths was removed and Bully Bird did not seem to notice. A week later the other birdbath was removed and Bully Bird began sharing the one remaining birdbath with his other bird friends.
Lady Angela reported that the garden and birdbath were finally back to normal.
