raveyard Robberies
|
ome time ago Baron Von Lodge was the head of a small country near Switzerland known as Lilliland.
Professor Hamblin read reports from the Lilliland police that a number of graveyards had been robbed. The robbers took the grave markers that stood upright and were made of semi-precious metals. The Professor realized that the grave markers could be easily removed and melted down and sold in bars. The metal bars could be easily sold on the black market since they would have no markings on them as to where they came from.
Since it was a semi-precious metal, the robbers had to steal many of them to make any money from them.
The Baron had an idea that the stealing for profit could be eliminated if the grave markers were designed to be worthless to anyone except the loved ones.
A new grave marker design was submitted to the Baron. It was ten inches square and fit level with the ground. It would contain the name and all pertinent information that was required. Since it would be flat to the ground, the graveyard would not resemble the typical cemetery but would look like a pasture with green trees and flowers.
The funeral directors and cemetery owners were gathered to discuss the robbery problem and they liked the solution of the new grave markers that would have no value and could not be stolen.
Next, all of the families with love ones buried in the various cemeteries had to be contacted. They all agreed and the plan was unanimously adopted.
The robberies stopped and the graveyards looked more like peaceful green pastures, which made everyone happy.
One thing that the Baron did not realize was that since the graveyards looked more like peaceful green pastures, more people visited the loved ones who were laid to rest there.
Graveyard robbery is not a pleasant subject for the Baron to address but as a leader he had to face all problems and seek a solution that was for the betterment of Lilliland.
The Professor liked the way that the problem was resolved.
