ountain Spring Magical Waters

ome time ago Baron Von Lodge was the head of a small country near Switzerland known as Lilliland.

Rumors persisted that there was a spring near the top of one of the Alpine Mountains in Lilliland. What was so special was that the spring water only flowed at certain times during the year. Usually this happened in the warm weather of the summertime when the snow on the peaks had thawed. The spring was blessed with special water that bubbled and gave the people who drank it a sense of well-being and their spirits rose to heights of great joy with life.

The spring was hard to find since it was covered with snow most of the year, but a small warning sign told people that any Doubting Thomas, or skeptics, please stay away.

After the Baron heard the stories of the spring, he consulted with Professor Hamblin to see if the waters of the spring could hurt anyone who drank it. Professor Hamblin had a sample of the spring water, along with a sample of the regular Lilliland well water, sent to a laboratory for evaluation. When the results came back, it was concluded that there was no difference between the two samples of water.

The Professor concluded that if there were any benefit from the mountain’s water, it was a self-fulfilling prophecy and that the person who drank the mountain spring was such a firm believer that he changed his life to include more positive thoughts about life and the beauty of nature.

Since the tourists liked the folklore of the mountain spring and the Baron decided that no harm would come to anyone who drank the spring water, he decided to let the spring alone as part of the mountain lore.

When asked whether the mountain spring water had any magical powers, he would simply reply that just breathing the pure fresh clean air of the mountaintop, cleared the head and gave a person clearer thoughts. The drinking of the mountain spring water just added to the person’s enjoyment of the magnificent mountaintop view, the clear air and the refreshment of the clear cool water.

Nothing else beats the joy of being atop a mountain in the Alps.
