ystery Box

aron Von Lodge was the head of a small country known as Lilliland near Switzerland. The time was the early 1900s.
One day during the Christmas holiday season a strange box arrived at Lilliland Castle. The box was the size of a steamer truck and was locked. A note came with it with a key attached. The note said, “Don’t open until Christmas Day.”
Professor Hamblin, the Baron’s chief advisor, and Lady Angela of Alpine Castle, the Baron’s fiancée, were gathered Christmas Day to open the strange box. The Baron opened the box only to find a smaller box with a note and key. The note said, “Open this box on New Year’s Day.” Well, it was only a few more days away so they decided to wait.
When New Year’s Day arrived, the Baron, Professor Hamblin and Lady Angela were all a little anxious about the contents of the box. The box was opened and another note said, “Wait to open the next box during the first day of spring.”
The first day of spring came and the box had been nearly forgotten. But when it was opened another box with a key and a note said, “Wait until Lilliland Founders Day to open the next box.” Each box was getting smaller and smaller. The note said, “Be patient as the reward will lead to a better life for all who learn the true meaning of life.”
They finally reached the last box and the last key. There was no note. They had been instructed to open this last box on Christmas Eve with loved ones present. The Baron, Lady Angela and Professor Hamblin were all present to open the box.
Inside the final box was a scroll with a brief message. The message said, “Live life as if you are living in the Garden of Eden with great respect of nature and all plants and animals. Show love, respect, patience and sincerity to all mankind.” That was what was inside the final box.
The Baron thought for a moment about the message and said that he understood and believed it. Professor Hamblin also said he like it. Lady Angela said that she, too, was impressed with the message and they all decided that it should be shared with all the people of Lilliland.
