aron Von Lodge was the head of a small country known as Lilliland near Switzerland. The time was the early 1900s.
It was wintertime and many people get colds and other typical winter ailments. Some of the citizens of Lilliland go to the cabin of the Pine Oil Soap Healer for almost any ailment that could develop. No matter what the ailment, the treatment was the same. Put your bathing suit on, even though it was winter and very cold, rub yourself with pine oil soap and jump into Castle Lake as the last step in the treatment. There was oftentimes ice on the lake that had to be cleared away first.
The Lilliland hospital staff reported to Baron Von Lodge that there have been an unusually large number of Lilliland citizens with very bad cases of the cold, and frostbite.
Baron Von Lodge's first duty, as the head of the country, was the health and safety of the citizens of Lilliland. The Baron brought the Pine Oil Soap Healer to Lilliland Castle for a conference with some of the physicians at the Lilliland Hospital.
The Baron said that the pine oil soap treatment would not harm the people but the part about putting on their bathing suits and jumping into Castle Lake would have to stop immediately. He also asked the Pine Oil Soap Healer to consult with some of the members of the medical staff at the hospital to make sure that the patients get well in as short a time as possible.
As time went by, the Pine Oil Soap Healer became more concerned with good habits of cleanliness and sanitation than with trying to diagnose or treat any serious disease.
Everyone was very happy in Lilliland when the Pine Oil Soap Healer changed his name to the Pine Oil Soap Nurses Aid.
